Meet Our 2023 Angel Grant Recipients

Dear Santa's Angel,

Empowering Women thru Motion wants to share our best wishes for the upcoming holiday season. We wish you joy, we wish you peace, and we wish you the support, love, and comfort you need to thrive.

There are so many people who face tremendous challenges in their daily lives. People who work hard to keep their families healthy, housed, and happy. Over the past 11 years your generosity in donating to the Angel Grant fund has helped so many inspiring people. This year we are reaching out to you for donations to help a special family who was selected from people nominated to us by their communities.

Imagine yourself facing the holidays with your family living in a hotel room. Our Angel Grant recipient and her husband have three children under the age of 13. They are ineligible for housing assistance as they missed the income requirement by just $400, and so they currently live in a hotel room. Imagine the challenges they face living in one room. In feeding their family with only a microwave and a pressure cooker. They have no car and so they ride bicycles to work. These are very difficult circumstances in which to raise a small family and it will be very difficult for them to find the resources to celebrate during the upcoming holiday season.

The person who nominated this year’s recipient has a very personal connection to the family as she fostered their three children for a time. The family has since been reunited and they continue to do everything in their power to keep their family together. Imagine what we can do if we come together to briefly be a part of their family, their community, their support system by offering them the gift of an anonymous grant.

Your generosity in making a tax-deductible donation will help Empowering Women to offer this family a significant grant which they can use towards a new bike, a fridge, groceries, and gifts for their children.

This year we are excited to announce that an anonymous donor has stepped forward and offered to match all the funds raised. As always, anything you can donate is very welcome. And this year it will be doubled!

This matching donation will enable us to also offer some help to two of our other nominees.

One is a single mother, a cancer survivor with a compromised immune system who is currently battling Covid pneumonia. The other is a young widow with two small boys who lost her husband to a 19-month battle with cancer and is facing the holidays with extensive medical bills yet to cover.
